In-Car Training
At Good Drivers our personalized in-car training provides hands-on instruction with a certified driving instructor. Each lesson is designed to build confidence, improve driving skills, and prepare students for safe, independent driving.
During your in-car training, you will learn:
- Vehicle controls and dashboard familiarization
- Proper seating, mirror, and steering wheel adjustments
- Safe vehicle starting, stopping, and parking procedures
- Defensive driving techniques and hazard awareness
- Observation skills and effective mirror use
- Lane positioning and lane-changing techniques
- Left and right turns at intersections
- Four-way stops and controlled intersections
- Traffic signs, signals, and right-of-way rules
- Residential, urban, and rural driving
- Highway and freeway driving skills *if safe
- Merging, exiting, and maintaining safe following distances
- Speed management and space management
- Parallel parking and reverse parking
- Three-point turns and U-turns (where permitted)
- Backing up safely and reversing techniques

At Good Drivers, our MTO-approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) program includes 20 hours of self-paced online learning and 10 hours of home-link activities designed to help new drivers build the knowledge, confidence, and safe driving habits needed for success on the G2 road test.

Home-Link Activities
The 10 hours of home-link assignments reinforce classroom learning through practical exercises and discussions that help students apply safe driving concepts to real-world situations.
By completing the online and home-link portions of the program, students gain the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to progress toward their G2 licence and become safe lifelong driver
